Latest News About Emin..!

Emin is a singer born in Azerbaijan, who relocated when he was young to Moscow, and who has had reasonable success across Russia with three albums over the last few years. His singing began in a covers band in New Jersey, where he was studying, before eventually giving the career a proper go.

Now, like many eastern European artists, he’s looking to make a wider impact. Many have tried before and many have failed, but there’s something about Emin that might buck that trend. Timing is one reason. Right now, there’s an audience to be milked for Michael Buble style pop. And while this isn’t competing in the exactly the same box as the Buble, there are some similarities.

Firstly, the man can sing. His voice has a lovely rich tone, falling somewhere between Enrique and Buble and he also knows a good tune. It’s all very polished, as the album sees him collaborate with hit maker Brian Rawling, who’s had success with the likes of James Morrison and Enrique Iglesias, whose sound is evident here in a few places.

What are described as the album’s key songs, ‘Wonder’ and first single ‘Obvious’, were both written by Emin and he says they are stories of emotions and feelings for someone you love, someone you miss, someone who’s not around anymore. And that sums up the lyrical content here; “every time you’re close I begin to feel the breeze” (Hold You In My Arms) for example.

Other highlights include the excellent Chris Isaak does pop of Tell Me You’ll Be Mine and the Wicked Game sounding Hold You In My Arms. Elsewhere, there are moments that let him down, when it goes too Euro pop. One Last Dance is the worst offender, sounding like a thumping Eurovision entry, and not in a good way.
